Edith Yost McIntire, 100, of Apopka, Florida was called home to the Lord on February 26, 2018. Edith was born on February 7, 1918 in Crawford County Ohio, and her family and friends had just celebrated her 100th birthday.
Raised in Bucyrus, Ohio, Edith married John F. McIntire in 1939 and they moved to Apopka in 1946. She was a homemaker for their seven children while John worked at Minute Maid/Coca Cola in Plymouth as a mechanical engineer. They both were active in church (First United Methodist Church of Apopka) and scouting. Edith worked at Tiny Tots Kindergarten for almost twenty-five years and taught many children in Apopka. Later she delivered Meals on Wheels for twenty-five years. She was a skilled seamstress and helped with her church bazaar for many years. She made over twenty-five quilts for her family.
Those who knew Edith admired her sweet smile and disposition. She feared nothing, she was patient and kind. When asked, Edith attributed her long life to moderation in everything and trusting in the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her dear husband of thirty-six years, John, and two of her seven children, Jill Kirsten of San Diego and Terry McIntire of Zellwood. She is survived by her daughters Connie Hawkins, Ocala, Fl and Janis McIntire of Moultrie, Ga, her sons Pat McIntire (Susie) of Sorrento, Mickey McIntire (Heather) of Zellwood, and Toby McIntire, Apopka, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at United First Methodist Church of Apopka on Saturday, March 10th at 2pm.
With interment at Greenwood Cemetery at 3:00PM.

Dear Kim and family, thank you for the sunflower arrangement. It was beautiful! The service at the Church and the cemetery was very comforting to all of us. It was a lovely service -wish you could have been there but we are so glad you and Gale got to see Mom just a few weeks ago, looking so great and enjoying her birthday party.
