Billy was a mentor, teacher, colleague and friend. He was there to help when others shied away. He made us always feel as part of the family. We will miss his jovial and good natured needling. I will always be greatful and honored to be one of the first “non-family ” persons to receive a shell belt buckle. God Bless!

So sorry for your loss, what a great man. I’m your neighbor across the street, Effie Lawsons neice. The last time I saw him he was fixing the fence where the bear had pushed it down. I went over and said, ” I think the bear did this”. And he said, ” which one”? So funny. Such a good man.

I had the privilege of knowing Billy Long for a short period of time but in that time I saw a family filled with kindness, giving and love to all. He leaves this legacy to his children that follow the same principle of life. Billy will forever have a place in my heart with his laughter, kindness and joy of life.

We are so sorry to see this news. Billy was a great man, great Farmer, great leader and a dear friend. His counsel to us when we lost our farm to eminent domain by the power company was so helpful and thoughtful. Our lives are better because of Billy Long. His big laugh and passion for Ag and others will be truly missed.
