My condolences to all the Swain and extended family. Pop was such a wonderful man. So many great memories of him but the one that sticks with me and the one I’ll share is about a fishing trip on Pearl Lake when I was probably around twelve years old. Pop and I were in his little Jon boat drifting around and pulling in the Specks left and right. Every time we would pull one in we would hear this “HEEEY!”. We looks towards the bank after realizing it was only after we caught a fish that we heard it. Thats when we realized there was an older colored gentleman sitting on the bank fishing. He would yell out and raise up his hands to congratulate us on every fish we caught that day. Pop thought that was something else. His cheeks bright red from smiling so much! Through the years we talked about that trip and I’ve heard him tell several people about it. Times have changed and I guess I have to. I haven’t been around for a while to tell him but I’ll always love ol Pop Swain! Until we load up that old Jon boat again in heaven Pop you just rest easy. I love you!
