Perry Wheeler Jr., age 90 of Lockhart, Florida passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Perry was born in Winter Garden, Florida on December 03, 1927 to parents Perry Sr. and Mattie Wheeler.
He graduated from Orlando Senior High School, served in the US Army, attended Orlando Junior College and Stetson University. He spent 50 years as harvesting manager in the citrus industry.
He married Mary Elizabeth Risener of Apopka. They were blessed with a daughter Susan (Jerry Cullars) and a son Robert (Colleen). In addition, he is survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Perry joined the Winter Park Masonic Lodge #239 in 1953 and later moved his membership to Mokanna Lodge #329 in 2001. He was a member of Lockhart Methodist Church from 1942 until the church closed in 2005. He was a current member of Bear Lake United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Orange County Old Timer’s Club.
