Louis Alton Peter George Jr passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at the age of 71, at the Florida Hospital in Orlando, FL. Louis was born on October 10 1945, to the late Louis and Gertrude Noil George, in Edgar, LA. He is preceded in death by his brother Alvin George.
Louis was a resident of New Orleans, LA where he worked as Supervisor in the Catering & Concession's Department at the New Orleans Fair Grounds. Louis worked at the Fair Grounds for 30 years until Hurricane Katrina forced him to relocate to Apopka, FL where he later retired. While living in Apopka, FL he served as caretaker of the Zellwood Hanger Property. Although Louis persevered in his career, he was best known for his beautiful soul, his addictive smile and hospitable character. Louis enjoyed attending church, cooking, spending time with friends and family and making people laugh and feel welcomed. He loved serving others and he had a lasting effect on anyone he came in contact with. His favorite saying was "Peace Out!"
He is survived by his wife Norma D. George; three daughters Monique George Diaz, Roslind Veals and Tamika Porter and three sons Louis Alton George III, Corey Deverney and James Deverney; a host of grandkids; Desmon, Madison, Tiara Markham, Breione Walker, Brittany George, Lailah George, Raven Veals and Darius Veals, and 1 great grandkid, Kymoni Markham.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 9913 Bear Lake Road, Apopka, FL 32703 officiated by Reverend Ron Potter. A fellowship lunch will be held in the Fellowship Hall of St. Andrews Presbyterian church following the funeral. Cremation Services by The Loomis Family Funeral Home, 420 West Main Street, Apopka, FL 32712.
