Eddie (Pete) Spurlin
December 14, 1933 – November 29, 2016
Born in Cockeysville, Maryland to Edward R and Sarah J Spurlin. At age 18 he met his wife to be Elizabeth (Boots) O’Strum. They married on October 29, 1951. They were married 45 years until her death on June 20, 1997. They had 5 children Pat, Lois, Eddie, Dianna and Brett. In 1957, he moved his family following his parents, brothers Estel, Gene, Jessie and sister Betty to Florida. He worked on a farm while living in Maryland. After moving to Florida his family started a construction company called Edward R Spurlin and Sons. He worked in construction until he retired. After the death of his wife, he met Patricia Hamlin Devol . They began attending church at Park Ave Worship Center and were married there in July of 2002. Patricia was a singer at the church and Pete played guitar. He loved his church and was an active member and deacon. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, bowling, volleyball, and fishing. He loved the outdoors.
