Dan Lagennusa Sr. ( 1 – 1 – 30 ). ( 3 – 31 – 18 )
Went to sleep on this earth and woke up in the loving arms of our Savior. He leaves behind a grand legacy of love for family love for his country and love for song. His parents Michael and Jenny migrated from Italy to Queens New York , Dan was one of five brothers and sisters ,Fran,Josie Al and Joe. His love affair with New York caused him to take a job driving a bus in the heart of the city which was no easy task. His love for country took him to be a soldier fighting in the Korean War stationed in Japan; being the consummate performer he would donate his time and talent to entertain the troops through the USO. He was also a member of the American see Rangers helping to build our youth with strong values. His strong Italian heritage saw him as a proud member of the Italian American social club and later the Italian Federation to which he was that great singer of song. His bond of love for family blessed him with a loving and adoring wife Virginia she was the apple of his eye his best friend for life and the mother of his three children Michael ,Damian Jr and Joseph. He also was a loving father in law to Kathy and Diane ; A loving grandfather to Thomas and Alexandra to whom he truly loved ; As an uncle he loved all his nieces and nephews and grew a strong bond for his nephew John and wife Lucia. As a father he taught us right from wrong showed his love through all his songs. And most of all he stood tall and he did it his way.
