My sincere condolences to the Siler family. Charlotte and her late husband John have been my neighbors for many years. Charlotte was always such a pleasure to talk with. We enjoyed working in our yards and shared many great times of pulling weeds together which was an unending job. She enjoyed sharing her fruit from the trees her husband had planted. She always had a smile on her face even on the hottest of days with sweat running down her face. That did not stop her mission of keeping her lawn looking nice. I was always encouraging her to drink water and many times would bring her a bottle of water because she did not want to stop until her job was completed. Charlotte, your job is now completed. Rest in the presence of your maker. The God you loved and talked about as your personal friend and Savior. I’m sure He has said “well done, my good and faithful servant”. Until we meet again, my sweet neighbor, rest in peace. You will be missed on Hill Ave.

A real Southern lady of the Highest Order of whom I had the privilege of meeting in October and she indeed has left an impact and wonderful legacy of friends, children and grandchildren. She now belongs to the ages and this popular poem , titled, “Immortality, ” is a reminder that this is how this southern belle would like to be remembered….
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
God bless you, momma Charlotte and may you rest in Eternal Peace in the ever loving presence if the Almighty and King of Glory.
Love, Isabelle Rose
Ms. Meghan and Rev. Nick Vaughn says
It was a privilege and an honor to know Sister Siler. For many years she served as the church clerk and song leader in the first church where my husband pastored, and it was a pleasure for my husband to be her pastor, and for our family to serve together. Before that we attended church together with her and Bro. Siler over the years, and even rented a house from the Silers for a little while. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, kind and patient with us as “new” pastor & pastor’s family, faithful and helpful with ministry, and with wrangling my little one(s) while my husband was preaching. We will always remember her with such fondness. We’d like to extend our sympathy to all of her family and loved ones. We’re praying for you.
With Love,
Meghan & Pastor Nick Vaughn
