William Martin Schaum

William Martin Schaum, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on July 31, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bill was a cherished member of his community and will be remembered for his kind spirit and dedication to his family.

Bill is survived by his loving spouse of 56 years, Suzanne “Susie”; his children, Beverly Amity, Karen (Mark) Fortunato, William Jr (Rosie), and Scott; his five beloved grandchildren Morgan, Kaitlyn, Joshua, Natalie, and Michael, and his numerous nieces and nephew, along with his five great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister, Lois Leibeck and was predeceased by his 8 other siblings. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose Schaum. 

He leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Throughout his life, Bill took pride in his work within the transportation and supply industries, always valuing the connections he made on the road and the friendships he formed along the way. 

Bill will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. As an avid golfer and bowler, Pittsburgh Steeler fan, and great story and joke teller, Bill’s contagious personality and kind heart will live on forever. 

The Funeral Mass for Bill will be held at St Mary Magdalen Church in Altamonte Springs, Fl on 14 August 2026 at 10 AM. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bill's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that was close to Bill's heart. Over the past seven years, he sponsored numerous golf tournaments and fundraising events, helping raise many thousands of dollars to support the lifesaving work of St. Jude.
