In Loving Memory of Washington (W.L.) Evans
November 2, 1944 – June 25, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Washington (W.L.) Evans, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and beloved member of the Apopka community. W.L. passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born in Royston, Georgia, on November 2, 1944, W.L. was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served his country with honor. After his military service, he made Apopka, Florida his home, where he became a respected small business owner, working tirelessly from 1967 until his passing. Through his work and presence, W.L. became a pillar of the community — known for his kindness, integrity, and dedication.
W.L. is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Karen A. Evans, and his daughter, Tracy Evans both of Apopka. He leaves behind a treasured legacy that includes three granddaughters, three grandsons, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Addie Lee Bryant and Hollis Lee Evans, as well as his beloved son, Wayne Lee Evans.
A graveside funeral service will be held in his honor at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, at Edgewood/Greenwood Cemetery 141 Edgewood St Apopka, Florida 32703. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
Washington (W.L.) Evans will be remembered always for his humor, unwavering love for his family, his lifelong service to others, and the enduring mark he left on the hearts of all who knew him.
