It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Silvio Cerbone, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left this world on April 25, 2026, at the age of 89 at AdventHealth Hospital in Apopka, Florida. Silvio was born on October 28, 1936, in Licignano, a quaint neighborhood in Naples, Italy, where he spent his early years before embarking on a journey that would lead him to America and a fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends.
Silvio's lifelong passion for tailoring began at the young age of 14, a craft he pursued with dedication until his final days. His talents were only surpassed by his warm and vibrant spirit, which endeared him to everyone he met. He proudly served in the Italian military, which shaped much of his character and work ethic.
In 1951, Silvio met the love of his life, Carmela. Their romance blossomed when he was just 15 years old, and they have been inseparable ever since. Married for 64 wonderful years, Silvio and Carmela raised a beautiful family together. He was a devoted father to his children Anthony, Benny, Jerry, and Patricia and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren - Samantha, Briana, Lina, Teresa, Anthony, Leeann, Andrew, Nicholette, Gianna, Ava, and Christopher. Silvio was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Maura, Maeve, and Mary, and he took great joy in being a guiding light in their lives.
Silvio was known for his larger-than-life personality, his love for laughter, and his knack for storytelling. A passionate dancer and enthusiastic gambler, he enjoyed frequent visits to Atlantic City, where he often shared his infectious joy with family and friends. He had a giving heart and selflessly helped others, including friends and fellow Italians, to build their lives in America.
A public viewing will be held on April 29, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Loomis Funeral Home. A Mass in his honor will take place on April 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church, followed by a burial service at Edgewood Greenwood Cemetery in Apopka at 11:30 AM.
As we gather to celebrate Silvio's remarkable life, we are reminded of the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Silvio Cerbone will be deeply missed, and his love will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Silvio. Your legacy of kindness and joy will continue to inspire us.
