It is with deep sadness that the family of Rose Marie Barrington announce her passing on October 2nd, 2026 at the age of 62 years old in Lake Mary, Florida.
Rose will be forever remembered and cherished by her three daughters and their families: Linn Paul, her husband, John Paul, and their five children, Kaycee Tilley (Jay Tilley), Skyeler, Colby, Landon, and Jewell; Kaley Pfohl, her husband, Chase Pfohl, and their daughter, Penelope; and Ashley Davis, her husband, Micah Davis, and their four children, June, Henry, Wallace, and Daphne. She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Jaycee, Betty, and John Luke, and her brother, Anthony Selm. She was preceded in death by her biological father, William Selm, and her parents, Nancy and William (Bill) Joseph.
Rose Marie (Selm) Barrington was born on April 19th, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Nancy A. O’Brien and William B. Selm. After her father passed away when she was 8, her mother married William P. Joseph, who became the loving father who raised her. Among Rose’s fondest memories was a family trip to the Grand Canyon, where they rode donkeys along the trails. She loved camping and often laughed about their adventures, including encounters with bats in a cave and her mother’s memorable reaction. Rose shared a special bond with her grandparents, Raymond and Irene O’Brien, and lived with them at various times during her youth. She had a remarkable gift for making friends her family and gained many cherished extended family members throughout her years in Florida. After becoming a mother to three daughters, Rose devoted herself to supporting and raising them. Over the years, she brought her diverse skills to a variety of roles. Early in her career, she worked for Delta Business Systems. She later co-founded Dust ’Til Dawn, a cleaning company, with her best friend before finding her calling in healthcare as a home health assistant caring for people who were ill or elderly. Rose never stopped learning. In 2026, she earned a bachelor’s degree in allied health management medical coding and graduated with high honors after maintaining an excellent GPA throughout her studies.
Rose faced health challenges from a young age, enduring lasting effects and numerous surgeries throughout her life. Through it all, she remained a fighter who put her family first and made sure they knew how deeply she loved them. She treasured time with her loved ones and proudly shared stories of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with anyone who would listen. They were her greatest accomplishment, and she celebrated them wherever she went.
“Serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13). Rose loved God and served others selflessly. Whether volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, providing respite care for foster children, tutoring at the YMCA, or serving at the Elks, her devotion to others reflected the Lord’s love.
