Richard William “Rick” Wilshaw, born January 12, 1935, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 30, 2026, at the age of 91.
Rick lived a full and energetic life, fueled by his love of movement, music and adventure. An avid enthusiast of motorcycling, swimming, and jet skiing, he remained active well into his later years – jet skiing until the remarkable age of 85. His passion for life was matched by his deep appreciation for jazz, which influenced both his personal and professional paths. A dedicated musician and accomplished drummer, he built a successful career teaching drum lessons and nurturing the musical talents of countless students throughout the years.
In 1956, Rick met the love of his live, June, while performing with his band in Beach Haven, New Jersey – a place that would remain special to our family where we spent many cherished summer vacations together. June began her career as a registered nurse and later became a hospital administrator after the family relocated to Altamonte Springs, Florida from New Jersey. Their partnership was one of enduring love and shared purpose as they built a life dedicated to family.
Rick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June, and his grandson, Christopher. He is survived by his children, Tina Tsarouhas, Christopher (Eva) Wilshaw, Michael (Twilah) Wilshaw, Lynn (John) Turano, and Robb Wilshaw; his cherished grandchildren John Paul (Angela) Turano, Michael Tsarouhas, and Jake Turano; and his sister, Diane (Robert) Schiazza.
The Wilshaw family would like to especially acknowledge Robb, whose devotion and care for bother their parents in their later years was a profound expression of love, compassion, and family strength. His presence ensured Rick and June were surrounded by comfort and support throughout their final chapters.
