With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Lynn Blankenship, affectionately known as "Chiquita," who left this world on April 4, 2026, at Vista Manor Nursing Home in Titusville, Florida. Born on July 15, 1959, in Orlando, Florida, Patricia lived a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience. She spent her formative years in Orlando and DeBary, where she created lasting memories and friendships.

Patricia was a spirited soul, known for her warm heart and infectious smile. Though she attended schools in Orlando, including Oak Ridge High School, she embarked on her journey into the workforce as a dedicated salesclerk, pouring her energy and enthusiasm into helping others. She cherished her role in the retail industry, bringing joy to those around her.

She is survived by her beloved children, David Anthony Hinderer and Michael Childs Sanders, as well as her cherished son-in-law, Bobby Sanders. Her legacy will continue through her granddaughter, McKenzie Hinderer, who brought Patricia immeasurable joy and pride along with her two only nieces Jonah and Josie Slate.

Patricia leaves behind a loving family, including her brother, Steven R. Wilks, and sister, Pam Adams. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Joyce Childs Mayer, her father, Steve Joseph Mayer (whom she lovingly considered her dad), brother Jeffrey W. Slate, and beloved family members including her grandparents, James Red Childs and Bessie Childs, her uncle, Roddy Charlie Childs, and aunt Judy Childs.

As we gather to remember Patricia, let us hold her spirit in our hearts and share our stories of her laughter, love, and the cherished moments we spent together. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
