Nylia Jean Riggenbach passed away after her battle with cancer on November 9, 2025, with her daughter, son and a best friend at her side. Nylia was born August 13,1938 in Buffalo NY and spent the first part of her life in Pittsburgh PA before moving to Florida in 1975. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished, and she is survived by her brother, William “Bill” Kracht, her daughter, Mary Silvernell (Fran), her sons Anthony Pontier and David Riggenbach, her grandchildren Michael Jacobson (Lauren), Justin (Jessica) Pontier, Kayla Pontier, Adyn Pontier, Brooklynne Pontier, Corbyn Pontier, many great-grandchildren, step-children and step-grandchildren, in-laws and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors, and her cherished fur baby Lucy.
Twice-widowed, Nylia married John J. Pontier in February 1957 and had four children- Mary, John (deceased), Anthony, and David (deceased). After John passed away in 1984 Nylia was wed to Dale Riggenbach in 1993, until his passing in 2010. Nylia spent the remainder of her life devoted to Christ, Family, and Friends.
Nylia was an active member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church of Longwood, known widely for her generous spirit and pleasant personality. She was truly loved by many. Despite facing many health challenges of her family and her own, she always remained positive, taking “one day at a time”, knowing the Lord would not give her more than she could handle. Her influence will forever live in all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Longwood on January 4th, 2026, with visitation at 3pm, service at 4pm, followed by dinner after 5pm at the church. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Stephen Lutheran Church or give to a charity of choice in Loving Memory of Nylia Riggenbach.
