Desiree Dupre, 79, passed away in Apopka, FL on July 13, 2023. She was born Geraldine Donna Powell on February 14, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Donald Powell, WWII Veteran, and Edna (Pitman) Powell; and her son Thomas Powell.
She is survived by her children Jennifer Sliwa, Rebecca Gayle Ferrell, Michael Purcaro, Christine Harmon and William Purcaro; grandchildren Amanda Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Brian Johnson, Kylie Solis, Austin Harmon, Allison Harmon and Aaron Harmon and several great grandchildren.
Desiree played and studied the violin as a child through adulthood and enjoyed classical music. Her favorite movie was “The Quiet Man” and had been on the set of “Gone With the Wind” at MGM Studios. Her companion parrots Danny and Bennie gave her great joy and will be well cared for in her absence.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 9:30 AM, followed by graveside service at 10:00 AM at Edgewood Greenwood Cemetery, 141 Edgewood St, Apopka, FL 32703.
