Felix Frank Sadowski, 96, of Longwood, Florida, went to his heavenly home on September 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty Sadowski. Mr. Sadowski is survived by his devoted and loving children, Louise Albertson of WV, Thomas Sadowski of VA, Janet Bogard of FL and David Sadowski of MD. He also leaves his brother, Charles Sadowski of OH; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Sadowski was born December 15, 1919 in Cleveland, OH. He moved to Washington, D.C. as a young man to work for the Department of the Interior. Mr. Sadowski then served his country as a Second Lieutenant in World War II as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. He spent the rest of his career at the Federal Aviation Administration, from which he retired in 1974.
He was an active member of First Baptist Sweetwater in Longwood since moving here in 1979. Throughout his 96 years, Mr. Sadowski served the Lord through a number of ministries including being a faithful choir member for more than 60 years, uplifting the elderly through nursing home ministry and serving as both a church deacon and Sunday School teacher at various times.
Mr. Sadowski was a self-taught musician who shared his love of music with family, friends and anyone who was willing to sing, play or even hum along with him. Friends will be received at First Baptist Sweetwater, 3800 Wekiva Springs Road, Longwood on Thursday, September 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. A worship service to celebrate Felix’s homecoming will follow on Friday, September 16 at 8:30 a.m. Flowers will be accepted at the church or donations may be made at www.FBSweetwater.org.
