Mike Edd Grandey, 76, of Apopka, Florida passed away from an unexpected illness on June 6, 2026.

Mike is preceded in death by his father Ernest Grandey, his mother Nina Grandey, and his wife Deborah Grandey.

Mike was born in McMinnville, TN on June 5, 1950. He relocated with his family to Apopka, FL, where he attended middle and high school. Mike graduated from Apopka High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida. Mike was the owner and president of Imperial Builders & Supply, Inc. which he successfully ran for over 50 years until his retirement in 2020. Imperial Builders served the horticulture community in Central Florida and beyond, and innovated greenhouse design. Mike was fair, compassionate, loyal and honest in business and in life.

Mike married Deborah Faircloth and had 2 Daughters and 4 grandchildren. He enjoyed all sports, especially football when the Gators were playing, and went to many home games. Mike was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He owned and managed land in Georgia and was an active member of the Quality Deer Management Association, and supported wildlife management that promotes healthy ecosystems.

He is survived by his daughters Katherine Grandey and Jessica Grandey, his grandchildren Ona Grandey, Olive Buckley, Mae Grandey, and Christopher Grandey Buckley, his brothers Steve Grandey (Carol) and Joey Grandey (Debra), Niece Becky Bell (Terry), Nephew Shane Grandey (Kristin), Niece Lauren Bratcher (Jacob), and Niece Leah Pearsall (Evan).

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held July 18 at Club Lake Venue: 3403 Rock Springs Road Apopka, 32712 at 4pm. Camouflage attire is suggested but optional.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the following organizations that Mike supported: Georgia Wildlife Federation, Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
