Apopka, FL

Michael Cypherd, age 31, of Apopka, tragically passed away on November 3, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with mental illness and addiction. A native of Central Florida, Michael’s life was marked not by his struggles alone, but by the love he gave and received, the joy he brought to others, and the resilience he showed in his journey.

Michael worked in landscaping and the restaurant industry, where his friendly nature and warm smile made him a friend to all. He had a special love for animals, especially his cat and his Aunt’s cat. He cherished time with his family—his parents, sister, Granny, aunt, uncle, and cousins—and found comfort and belonging in their presence.

Michael attended Nations Church, where he asked Jesus into his heart at the altar, a moment of faith that brought him peace. Though he faced many challenges, he made great strides toward sobriety and fought bravely to reclaim his life. His family takes solace in knowing that he tried, with all his strength, to overcome the voices and burdens that weighed on him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and step-grandfather, as well as his paternal grandparents.

Michael is survived by his loving parents, his devoted sister, his biological grandfather and wife, his Granny, and a large extended family including many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Each of them holds cherished memories of Michael and will carry his spirit forward with love.

Michael’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the many people who prayed for him and supported him throughout his journey. His life is a reminder of the importance of compassion, understanding, and advocacy for those struggling with mental illness and addiction.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Orlando Union Rescue Mission, Celebrate Recovery or Freeway Orlando, organizations dedicated to helping others find hope and healing.

Michael was dearly loved, and he will be dearly missed. His memory will live on as a testament to resilience, faith, and the unconditional love of family.
