Mattie Lou Jean Bouchard, of Grand Island, Florida, at the age of 94, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1932, in Pansey, Alabama.

Mattie is survived by her three beloved daughters, Peggy Conklin, Jeannie Hatcher, and Patsy Neidigh. She also had a God-daughter, Ms. Amy Binkly.

She had six grandchildren: Michael Taylor, Mishie Hoskins, Keith Conklin, Karen Lima, Shane Neidigh, and Liam Snedeker. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Chad and Leila Taylor, Davin Hoskins, Keith Jr., Micheal, and Steven Conklin. Along with her cousin Charlie Jordan and many friends who will sadly miss her, they will all carry her memory in their hearts.

She loved and prayed for each of them every day, asking that they have love, joy, health, and success in life. She would also pray for their protection and shielding against any harm that might come their way.

Over the last half of Mattie's life, she became an ordained minister. She dedicated her life to Jesus and devoted her time to leading others to Christ. She would go to jails, minister to the homeless on the streets, and go anywhere the Spirit led her to share His love and Gospel along the way.

Because of her outward love for Christ, she became loved by many who affectionately called her "Granny." She had an open door and an open home for anyone in need.

Mattie enjoyed working in her yard, waving and chatting with her neighbors. She also liked to frequent thrift stores and antique stores, collecting meaningful pieces over the years that she proudly displayed in her home.

Mattie's presence will be sorely missed: her warm hugs, her calls to check in, her prayers with us, and simply hearing her say that she loved us. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, and giving spirit of Mattie's, our beloved Mother, Granny's and friend's life. Her unwavering faith and compassion for others will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of meeting her along the way in this life.

Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, Essie Nell Lambert and Eldridge Rodgers, as well as her sister and three brothers.

Mattie requested that her earthly body be cremated. Although she is no longer here with us, she is now in her heavenly home. Her remains will be buried next to her husband, best friend, and lifelong companion, Roger Bouchard, and close to her grandson, Kevin Taylor, who preceded her in death, at Edgewood-Greenwood Cemetery, 141 Edgewood St., Apopka, FL 32703.

Mattie, you will forever be loved, remembered, and missed.
