In Loving Memory of Marie-Josée Luvaluka Landu Sala-Diakanda
On August 9, 2025 — the very day she and her beloved husband celebrated 50 beautiful years of marriage — Marie-Josée Luvaluka Landu Sala-Diakanda peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born the cherished daughter of Raphael Matuvangua and Helene Dikizeyiko, Marie-Josée grew up in a loving family alongside her five siblings: two older sisters, one older brother, and two younger brothers. She is survived by her devoted sister Nsimba and her dear brother, Lambert.
A true pioneer, Marie-Josée was among the first women to earn a Master’s Degree in Architecture and one of the earliest female gymnasts at the prestigious National Institute of Architecture and Public Works (IBTP) in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Marie-Josée’s life was defined by love and selflessness. She shared an unshakable partnership with Professor Daniel Sala-Diakanda, with whom she raised a beautiful family of 16 children — all her 8 children are married — who blessed her with 24 cherished grandchildren! She nurtured each of them with unwavering care, wisdom, and a Christian faith which guided her every step.
Above all, Marie-Josée was a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. A pillar of faith and strength, she led her entire family to the Word of God and testified of Christ’s love to countless people throughout her life. Her home radiated the warmth and love of her Lord, full of grace and mercy.
She now awaits the return of the Lord she served.
