It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luigino “Lou” Manco, who departed this life on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at his home in Apopka, FL surrounded by the Love of his family. Born on March 13th, 1953 in the town of Nola in Naples, Italy, Lou was the loving husband of Patricia, devoted father of Louis, Tino and Felicia, and a member of the Apopka community for 40 years after starting his family in Brooklyn, NY and moving to Apopka Florida in 1986. Lou (Papa), (Uncle Louie), was very proud of his Italian heritage and his large extended family.
Lou had a distinguished Healthcare career as a Director of Plant Operations and Environmental Services working in several Nursing Homes throughout Central Florida for over 30 years. He was known for his playful, loving spirit, his servant style leadership and his commitment to his team. He was a hard working man of integrity, admirable strength and giving nature who instilled the values of compassion, family, loyalty, and hard work in his children.
Lou loved spending time outdoors, working on the house or on a landscaping project, and was quick to offer assistance to family or friends who needed help on these kinds of projects.
Over the years, He enjoyed traveling with Pat, his friends and family on cruises, Beach trip weekends, East Coast road trips, and attending live sporting events. Lou was always ready with a small wad of cash in his right pocket for a trip to the Hard Rock In Tampa or a flight to Vegas! He was a passionate WWE, Chicago Bears/Bulls and FSU fan and his passion for all of these activities enriched the lives of those around him. Lou was a quiet man of faith, but his Catholic upbringing and conservative nature were an important part of his life and his family values. Everyone was truly welcome in his home, into his family (The Manco Mafia) and into his heart.
Lou is survived by his beautiful wife of 52 years, Patricia, his brother Vincent, his sister Marie, his children Louis, Tino and Felicia, his grandchildren Alexis, Aliyah, Nathaniel, Megan, Giovanni, Isabella and Gino and his great grandson Nolan. Lou had many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended Manco family members that were so important to him throughout his life and he was very grateful for being a part of such a large, loving and diverse family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25th, 2025 at 1pm at Loomis Funeral Home in Apopka
Lou will be remembered as a true loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and family man and he will live on forever in our hearts.
