Joseph Earl Fisher, 83, passed from this world on February 4, 2026, sorrounded by his loving family. Joseph "Joe" was born in Carbon Hill, AL. on December 18,1942, and moved to Florida as a child with his family. He graduated from Mt. Dora High School in 1961, where he excelled as a football player, and began a career in the telephone communications field in the mid-1960's as a lineman with United Telephone Corporation. Joe worked for United Telephone and it's successor companies until his retirement in 1995.

Joe had been a resident of Apopka since the mid-1960's. He was an avid outdoorsman, and particularly loved fishing. Throughout his life Joe was active in the community, coaching baseball when his sons were young, volunteering at Apopka High School football games, and traveling with his church to repair and remodel homes for less fortunate families in Appalachia. Joe was an active member if the First Methodist Church of Apopka. 

Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Fisher, his son Keith Fisher and daughter-in-law Jill Fisher of Hummelstown, PA, his daughter Kim Morse and son-in-law George Morse of Apopka, FL, 6 grandchildren- Houston Fisher (Dessia), Kendall Fisher, Aidan Fisher, Keira Fisher, Andrew Ghekas (Katrina), and William Ghekas, and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Ann Bagwell and Brenda Reynolds, sister-in-law Colleen Fisher, sister-in-law Debbie Sellery (George), and many nieces and nephews. 

Joe was predeceased by his parents James Luther and Katherine Fisher, sister Shirley Lavin, brother Bobby Fisher, and son Kevin Fisher. 

Services will be held at 11:00AM, March 12, at the First Methodist Church of Apopka. The family is suggesting donations to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. 

Joe's final resting place will be at the (Sorrento Cemetery) in Sorrento, Florida.
