It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Richard Cunningham, who departed this life on February 11, 2026, in his hometown of Orlando, Florida. Born on October 9, 1946, John was a lifelong resident of College Park in Orlando, where he built lasting friendships and meaningful connections throughout his life.
John was a devoted and cherished father, known for his unwavering love and steadfast support for his daughter, Meredith Cunningham. The bond they shared was one built on unconditional love, laughter, guidance, and deep mutual respect. He was not only her father, but also her protector, mentor, and greatest supporter. Their connection was the cornerstone of his life, and he took immense pride and joy in being her dad.
He dedicated his career to the automotive industry, serving as a Parts Manager at Holler Chevrolet. John combined his passion for cars with an exceptional ability to connect with customers and colleagues alike. His strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with.
Outside of work, John had a true love for hot rods. He appreciated the craftsmanship, power, and nostalgia they represented, and he found great joy in everything from talking shop to admiring a beautifully restored classic. His passion for automobiles and collecting Coca-Cola antiques was more than a hobby – it was a lifelong enthusiasm that brought him happiness and connection with others who shared those interest.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John “Jack” and Bessie “Betty” Cunningham.
During this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the many cherished memories he leaves behind and in the enduring love that will forever connect us to him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Orlando.
