Joel Ulmer Clark

August 19, 1961 — May 28, 2025

Joel (Joey) Ulmer Clark, went home to be with the Lord, May 28th 2025.

Joey was born August 19th 1961 to Charles (Buddy) and Mary Alice Clark in Orlando Florida. Joey was raised in Apopka, attended school in Apopka, and graduated from Orlando Christian Academy. He began his career as a volunteer with the Apopka Fire Department in January of 1981 and he worked his way up to Lieutenant/Paramedic where he retired for a month before returning at part time and Volunteer until 2016, in all giving the city 35 years of service. He loved, and was proud to serve the City of Apopka and it’s Citizens for all those years. Joey was an outdoor enthusiast, who loved to hunt and fish when he could in his free time. He was also an entertainer and loved playing his guitar around the station or on stage. While he enjoyed the outdoors, nothing was more important to him than his Family. He was a very involved Father, from coach, to hunting partner, fishing buddy, golf swinger, scout leader, and music teacher, Joey made sure he was an active part in each of his children's lives. Whether it was behind the plate or in life Joey always called it like he saw it. Joey was a dedicated and loving Husband for 38 years to his Wife Debbie and together they raised their family in Apopka. Joey's life was helping and serving others, here in Apopka or on his missionary trips with Church, but most of all He was a man all about family.

Joey is survived by his wife Debbie Clark, daughters Katie (Clark) Hope, Emily Clark, son Nathan Clark, Grandchildren Quinn and Aaron, Mother Mary Alice Clark, brother John, and sister Pamela.

He is preceed in death by his father Charles U. Clark, brother Richard and sister Phyllis.

Joey was loved by his family, respected by those he served along side and will be missed by all who knew him.

Service will be held at Loomis Funeral Home in Apopka on June 13th.

Viewing will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with service, graveside, and reception to follow. All are welcome.
