Joanne (Fennema) Little

It is with sadness that we announce the loss of Joanne Little. She passed peacefully onJuly 10, 2026, surrounded by family.
Joanne was born Janke Fennema in Ferwerd, Friesland, Netherlands to Johannes (John) and Antje (Ann Miedema) Fennema. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1949, graduated from Simcoe Composite School and worked as a dental assistant in Hamilton, Ontario, a profession she proudly reminisced about often.
Joanne married William Robert “Ross” Little on September 17, 1967, in Hamilton, Ontario. They have lived in Florida for the last 50 years, raising their family together.
Joanne will be remembered for her intense love of her family, her charitable and beautiful quilting work, her passion for tennis, and the comfort and joy she found in her many valuable friendships.
Joanne is survived by her husband Ross Little; her children Laura-Ann Alice (Mark) Henley, and Andrew Robert Ross Little; her grandchildren Alexander Ross Henley, Emily Virginia Henley-Lewalski (Viktor), and Anna Renee Henley; her siblings Henry (Eunice) Fennema, Andy (Ruth) Fennema, Tena (Don) Hibma, Mary (Gary, deceased) Gagnon, Ida Misner (Bill Payton, deceased), Leo (Linda) Fennema, and Betty (Mike) Henderson; in addition to many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings John Fennema and Linda May Fennema.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 17th, 2026, 11:00 am at One Family Church, 500 S Highland Avenue, Apopka, FL. A reception will follow at Ross & Joanne’s home 1555 Errol Parkway, Apopka, FL.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to The Apopka Pregnancy Care Center, a charity close to Joanne’s heart (https://apopkapregnancy.org/get-involved/donation-form/).
