Jimmy Lee Newton

Jimmy Lee Newton, 75, of Altoona, passed away on October 8, 2026. Born January 5, 1951, in Ocoee, Florida, to Claude and Sadie Newton, Jimmy was the youngest of five children and was raised in Apopka, Florida.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Sadie Newton; brothers, Sylvester and Bud Newton; and sister, Faye Moussa.

He is survived by his sister, Kathryn Carter; daughters, Rebecca Tindale (Ryan), Connie Sue Archer, and Jolene Pino (Joseph); grandchildren, CJ, Shawna, Amberlyn, Katelynn, and Samuel; and many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A Vietnam veteran, Jimmy honorably served in the United States Army with the 173rd Airborne Brigade.

Viewing will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Loomis Funeral Home in Apopka, Florida. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., immediately followed by graveside service with military honors at Edgewood-Greenwood Cemetery.
