James Leon Baker

James "Buck" Leon Baker, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in Leesburg, Florida. Born on February 9, 1948, in Ocala, Florida, he was a loving father, brother, and friend who dedicated his life to his family.

Buck proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from September 27, 1967 to December 21, 1971 during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Airman First Class (E3). After his military service, he earned his degree at Rollins College and worked as a lineman and dispatcher for Duke Energy where he retired after 31 years.

He is survived by his three daughters, Brenna (Bradley) Agamaite, Brittany (Stephen) Tovet, and Brandi Baker (Ronald Kitchen), ten grandchildren, and siblings: Sandra Dawson, Patricia Barnett, Betty Baker, Charlene (Bill) Cagle, Debbie Baker, Bob (Kathy) Baker, and Mike (Laura) Baker. He is also survived by his beloved former spouse of 25 years, Stephani Caruso, the love of his life. Buck cherished the time spent with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on June 23, 2026. Friends are encouraged to arrive at Loomis Funeral Home at 10:30 AM, as the funeral service will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will take place at the Florida National Cemetery, located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL, at 2:00 PM.

Buck was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Baker, parents: Joyce and Charles Baker, Sr., brother Charles Baker, Jr., and his dog Moxie.
