Glenda Carol Andrews

January 31, 1944 — January 12, 2026

Glenda Carol Andrews, 81, of Apopka, died peacefully at home in her sleep on January 12, 2026. She was born January 31, 1944 in Enterprise, Alabama to Mack and Mamie Lindsey. She served many churches in multiple capacities over the years before becoming a beloved, long-standing member of First Baptist Church of Apopka. She had a heart for volunteering and gave her time to the nursery and more recently, the clothes closet.

 Her granddaughter said it best:

  • No more pain. No more suffering. In the arms of Jesus.

  • We lost our sweet Grammy, a woman who lived a life like Jesus and impacted everyone around her. To know her was to know love, grace and service. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and loved all of us with all she had. She supported all of us and stood behind us.

  • She was resilient and strong. She fought hard these last few months and was one of the strongest women I know. I pray that, one day, I can be the woman of God that she was and build a family like she did. She's reunited with all of those who went before her and our comfort is that we know she will be waiting for us and we will see her again.

  • Glenda was proceeded in death by her parents, Mack and Mamie Lindsey, her grandson, Christopher Andrews, sister, Carolyn Watson, brothers, Dennis, Huey Mack and Earl Lindsey.

  • She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Melvin Andrews, daughter, Kristie Johnson, sons, Kerry (Julie) Andrews and Gregory (Tracy) Andrews, grandchildren (HER babies), Joel Andrews, Nicholas Andrews, Jamerya Drake, Andrew Johnson, Brian Johnson and Bryson Andrews, sister Zadie Lindsey, brothers, Titus (Diane) Lindsey, Donald (Patsy) Lindsey and Ronald (Sharon) Lindsey and many nieces and nephews.

  • She will always be remembered as a quiet but very witty person who was a much loved part of any ministry she volunteered with.

  • A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 with visitation at 11 am and service at 12 pm at First Baptist Church of Apopka, 441 S Highland Ave, Apopka, FL.
