After 88 years of life, Felicita Rodriguez Algarin passed away on October 5, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1938, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, to her loving parents, the late Vicente Rodriguez Roman and Rosa Maria Rodriguez Algarin.

A proud Puerto Rican woman of remarkable determination, Felicita lived with perseverance, independence, and devotion to family. She balanced family and work throughout her life, first as a seamstress and later as a home attendant. She took pride in her education, improving her English, and earning her home care certification.

Known for her strong personality and candid nature, she was never one to mince words. A gifted storyteller, she brought family histories and everyday happenings to life with vivid details, colorful expressions, and her unmistakable sense of humor. She also had an eye for fashion and enjoyed expressing herself through her style.

Music brought her tremendous joy. She treasured her cassette collection, especially the romantic boleros of Puerto Rican trios and songs by Vicente Fernández, José José, and Juan Gabriel. On good days, she turned up the music and danced; during difficult times, familiar melodies brought comfort.

A gifted cook, Felicita loved sharing meals with family. From everyday dishes to traditional pasteles, her cooking brought loved ones together and kept cherished traditions alive. She showed affection through food, thoughtful gifts, and heartfelt advice.

A devoted Catholic, she drew strength from her faith and regularly prayed for her family's health and well-being. She cherished staying connected with loved ones and cared deeply about their futures.

She is the beloved sister of eleven, a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter Zulma Ramos and sons Francisco Ramos, Jr. (Celeste Cajape), Jose Perez (Stephanie), and Victor Perez, her eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Edwin Ramos.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 1 to 3p.m., at 420 West Main Street, Apopka, Florida 32712.
