It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobbi Jane Houben, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, who left us on October 22, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on April 19, 1972, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and raised in Hayden, Alabama, Bobbi lit up the lives of those around her with her kindness, passion for cooking, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Bobbi graduated from Frostproof High School in 1990 and later moved to Orlando, Florida, where she married the love of her life, Nicholas Gene Houben. Together, they built a nurturing home filled with love and laughter for their four children: Nicole Lynn Houben-Laputka, Joseph Nicholas Houben, Devlyn Ashley-Jane Houben, and her beloved daughter, Devan Monk, who sadly preceded her in death. Bobbi's devotion extended to her cherished grandchildren—Carleigh Elizabeth Houben-Laputka and the joyous trio of Eli, Ryver, and Carson Laputka, along with Liam Houben—who always brought a smile to her face.
Bobbi is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas; her devoted children, Nicole, Joseph, and Devlyn; her parents, Pedro “Pete” Madamba and Tereasa “Gail” Green-Barron; her siblings, Michelle Kalani Madamba-Hutto, Lelton Green, Natasha Ho’aeae, and Tiana Madamaba; and her dear aunt, Cynthia Victoria “Viki” Green. She will also be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews: Jimmy-Lee, Kalani, Shelby, Mikala, and Levi.
Having found strength and comfort in her Christian faith, Bobbi often reminded her family of the scripture Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A celebration of Bobbi's life will take place on November 8, 2026 4:00pm, at the Ramon Theater in Frostproof, Florida. We invite all who knew and loved her to wear something pink in her honor as we gather to share memories, love, and laughter in her memory.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Bobbi’s warmth, her dedication to family, and the joy she brought into our lives. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
