Barbara Faye Bunnell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Faye Bunnell, affectionately known as Barb, on January 9, 2026, at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida. Just nine days shy of her 75th birthday, Barb was a long-time resident of Montverde, Florida, where she spent the last 30 years of her life. 

Born on January 18, 1951, in Trion, Georgia, Barb moved to Orlando, Florida, at the young age of two. She was proud to say that her childhood home still remains in the family, now lovingly occupied by her daughter, Sabrina, and her family. Barb was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and went on to have a fulfilling career that included positions at CNA Insurance, Walt Disney World, Health Central Hospital, Universal Orlando, and finally, as an assistant at Mediations of Central Florida in Winter Park. 

Barb married her beloved husband, John “Roger” Bunnell, on September 6, 1975, and they shared a beautiful 50 years together. She was a devoted mother to Sabrina and a proud grandmother to Kyleigh and Kynnlee. As a family, they cherished countless memories, especially during Halloween, which was Barb's favorite holiday. 

Beyond her family life, Barb had a creative spirit. She loved attending craft shows and making her own crafts, and she was Sabrina’s biggest fan when it came to school activities and softball tournaments. Camping trips with Roger were a highlight throughout the years, and she loved spending quiet moments with her precious pups, especially her newest friend Annie. Barb had a soft spot for online shopping and enjoyed video games, particularly Donkey Kong. 

Barb is survived by her husband Roger; daughter Sabrina; daughter-in-law Shannon; granddaughters Kyleigh and Kynnlee; and her niece Kelly Connor (Oliphant) and family, Steve and Skylyn. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Cecilia Gordon; sister Patricia (Douglas) Oliphant; and brother Homer Gordon. 

While Barb may no longer be with us, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be missed dearly and celebrated always.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Barb's name.

The family invites you all to celebrate Barb’s life on February 20, 2026, 4pm to 8pm, at Gather on Seventh, in Montverde, FL.
