Arlene Florence Friedlander, aged 91, of Longwood, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2025, just one day shy of her 92nd birthday. Born on May 4, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey, Arlene was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. Arlene graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark, NJ, in 1951. She later went on to pursue her passion for psychology at Georgian Court College in Lakewood, NJ. With a devoted heart for helping others, she built a rewarding career as a Home Healthcare Coordinator, serving her community with dedication and love until her retirement. In 1983, Arlene married Jesse Friedlander, creating a partnership filled with love and mutual support.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Moore) Karlsen, and her cherished grandsons: Blade Karlsen, Erik Karlsen, Brody Moore, and Chaz Moore. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce (Moore) Roberts.
Arlene’s spirit was as adventurous as it was nurturing; at the age of 70, she embraced skydiving, completing six exhilarating jumps and joyfully sharing her stories as a proud skydiver. Her vivacious personality and zest for life resonated deeply with her family, especially her grandsons, who will forever treasure the memories made with their beloved “Giggie.”Arlene was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Friedlander; her sons, Eric Moore and Robert Moore; her parents Herman and Rose Krushen; and her brothers, Marvin and Sandy Krushen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Advent Health Hospice, an organization that supported Arlene in her final days. Arlene Florence Friedlander will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever inspire those who loved her. Rest in peace, dear Arlene.
