Alejandro “Alex” Garcia, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Apopka, Florida on April 30, 2026. Alex was born on November 23, 1947 in San Angelo, Texas.

Alex grew up in San Angelo Texas, moved to Apopka, Florida in 1963. He helped his family and siblings to make ends meet as a migrant worker. He later became a transport driver.

He married then, Elida Herrera when he was 50. They would have been married 29 years this May 3rd.

Alex lived a life as full of laughter as it was of love. Known for his quick wit and warm heart, he had a special way of making people feel at ease—whether through a perfectly timed joke or a simple, genuine smile.

Alex had many hobbies including, working out, lifting weights, reading and gardening. He was a Man of God, Christian faith based. He was a member of Victory Church of Apopka for over 20 years. He loved the pastors and his church family

Alex was a deeply loving and caring soul who always put his family and others before himself. To know him was to know kindness, compassion, and to expect the occasional unexpected joke.

Above all, Alex treasured his family. The love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to call him family and friend.

Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife Elida Garcia; daughter, Cristina Garcia; grandchildren, Carlitos Vela, Chelsey Rosado, Dianna Vela, Angel Reyna, Janessa Castaneda; great grandchildren, Alysandra Rodriguez, A’lyn Rosado, Jeriah Rosado, Santiago De Los Santos; sister, Dorthy; brothers, Lusio, Rosendo, Macario, and Pedro. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives were touched by his love, laughter and kindness.

Alex is predeceased by his parents, Luisa and Dolores; brothers, Felix, Ynez, and Martin; sisters, Germana, Lola, and Maria

Though Alex is no longer with us, the laughter, love, and memories he shared will remain forever—a lasting reminder of a life beautifully lived.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a friend to all he encountered. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept my faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
