Cindy Rachele Story, 45, a long time resident of Apopka, Florida passed away on December 04, 2018 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Mrs. Story was born July 01, 1973 in Orlando, Florida. She is preceded in death by her father Lamar Davis and her father in law John E. Story. Mrs. Story is survived by her loving husband John Story; mother Faye C. Davis; children Matthew Smith, Nicholas Smith, Charlotte Story and Olivia Story; siblings Caroline (Gregg) Schroeder, Sean (Lida) Davis, Carrie (Barry) Wagner and Matthew Davis; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cindy Story was a nurse, which was a perfect role for her as she had a huge heart and wanted to bring happiness and peace into the lives around her. Cindy was an organ donor. Her organ donation was not her final gift to others – our memories of the joy she brought into all of our lives will live on with us. Cindy is a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Those that Cindy has left behind, with holes in our hearts, will find solace in the gifts of Cindy’s organ donations. Please remind this amazing woman that we love her and miss her. She was the wind beneath our wings.

I worked with Cindy very briefly in the ICU in Maryland early this past summer, and then when she returned a bit in late summer. While I only knew her for a few months, she stood out as a beautiful, quiet person, and wonderful nurse. Cindy brought much comfort and kindness, not only to her patients, but also to the other nurses and staff. It was so stunning & very sad to hear of her passing. The world has lost a kind, caring soul. May she be at peace now. May God watch over the family that she left behind, & the recipients who will truly benefit from her donation, true to her nature, of her last, very generous gift.

Her nursing school family continues to miss her, and we will always remember her. Cindy came to nursing after being cared for, the love of her nurses for her lit a fire in her to brave the cold and do what she was meant to do. I am sure she was that nurse for others, caring and kind. So sorry for the loss to her family, she cherished her roles as sister, wife, mother.
