Dear Cheryl and Amy:
Your obituary is lovely, and you are in my prayers. I believe that Uncle Lloyd’s legacy also extends to every heart he touched and inspired. I am such a beneficiary … of his energy, his generosity, his kindness, and his humor. Almost every time I saw him, he came with gifts … vegetables or peanuts from his garden that he had boiled or parched and put in brown paper bags. He was the only uncle who would swing us in big circles by our arms when we were young children, playing outside at Mama Tynes’s house. As an adult with a grown child of my own, I remember watching him tumble with Justin on the new linoleum that Mama had laid in her “front” room, that we used as a family room for Sunday visits to the country. We sat in rocking chairs with our hands in our laps, but Uncle Lloyd was on the floor laughing with his grandson. And Uncle Lloyd knew how to do everything; he refinished an antique desk of my Mother’s; and the last time I saw him in Bogalusa, he fixed my glasses! He was my favorite uncle, and a role-model for me. I will never forget him. Love, Dianne.

Thanks so much for reminding us of special times. He was always my handyman. I would save my projects until he came to visit. He did a lot of special things for Justin when he would go visit them for weeks during the summer. He loved all his grandchildren very much and was able to spend time with his great grandchildren too. He was a good cook too and loved trying new things. He will be greatly missed! Cheryl
