Dear Pumphrey Family, I went to high school with Johnny and during that period of time he was such a great guy, kind, funny, he seemed to be the “gel” that made others feel like we were okay. He was such a good person. After high school and so many of us left and lead lives elsewhere, but when we started reconnecting on facebook with pictures he was amazingly the same….kind, funny and everyone from high school remembered and loved him. God Bless you on his loss, I know that he is of course with God. I am sure you have amazing memories and we were all lucky to know and love him!

My heart is heavy as I write this. But I am so thrilled that I shared many years of Johnny’s life. We went to Apopka Jr and High School together and he was the neighbor of my best friend, Janice Treadwell, and since Johnny was next door, we all grew up playing together. I can’t forget his little smiling face as he showed up at my front door one afternoon pleading with me to teach him how to twirl the baton. His loving, compassionate heart and humor will live on in many hearts forever.
